New screens, measured for your home
Custom Window Screens for Phoenix Homes
North Phoenix Solar Screens builds custom window screens for Phoenix-area homeowners, including suitable openings that do not currently have screens. Start with the opening and how you use it, rather than trying to force an off-the-shelf screen into a different window.
The short answer
Custom window screens are measured and built for a specific opening and mounting arrangement. For fresh-air use, insect mesh allows airflow while helping reduce insect entry. Solar-screen mesh serves a different priority: sun and glare control. We help identify the appropriate product for each window.
Can I add screens to windows that never had them?
A missing original screen does not automatically prevent a new custom screen. We inspect the opening, channels or other mounting points and how the window operates. Some windows need a different approach, so suitability is confirmed before fabrication.
Tell us whether the window slides, opens outward or has unusual hardware. Mention any semi-circular or other irregular shape and any access restrictions. An approximate width and height is useful for a rough estimate, but professional measurement sets the finished dimensions.
What materials are used for an insect screen?
Our existing insect-screen offering uses fiberglass mesh in aluminum screen frames. Fiberglass insect mesh is intended for ventilation and insect protection; it should not be described as the same fabric as Phifer SunTex solar mesh.
Frame profile, color, mesh and installation details belong in the final quote. We review available color options against the home’s trim, but do not promise that a new finish will perfectly match weathered frames or that every color is always available.
How are custom screens measured and installed?
First, identify which windows need screens and what you want from them. We measure suitable openings in person, confirm mounting and material choices, then build and install the screens to the agreed scope.
Custom sizing is useful when standard dimensions do not fit the opening, but it is not a reason to claim every store-bought screen is unsuitable. Correct measurements, appropriate materials and a secure fit matter whichever route a homeowner chooses.
- Check the individual opening, not just its glass size.
- Confirm access for window operation, cleaning and required escape routes.
- Discuss matching trim and HOA requirements before fabrication.
- Keep screens securely fitted; they are not a child-safety or fall-prevention barrier.
Should I choose bug screens or solar screens?
Choose around exposure and room use. A shaded window used for winter ventilation may call for insect mesh, while a sun-exposed window with persistent glare may benefit from discussing solar mesh. Neither product guarantees a pest-free home, and either mesh affects airflow compared with an unscreened opening.
You can ask about different screen types for different windows. We do not assign the same mesh to every room merely because the home is in Phoenix.
How do I get a free custom screen estimate?
Send your window count, approximate sizes, city or ZIP code, and email address for a rough estimate. Exact pricing is determined after an in-person measurement. Scheduling is confirmed for your project; no standard turnaround is promised.
We serve Phoenix, North Phoenix, Scottsdale, Peoria, Glendale, Anthem, Cave Creek and Carefree. Share your location when requesting a visit. For a damaged existing screen, our service is replacement rather than standalone repair.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you build screens if I have no existing screens to copy?
Yes, we can measure suitable openings without an original screen. We confirm the dimensions, window operation and mounting arrangement in person before agreeing on the finished screen.
Are custom screens better than store-bought screens?
Custom screens address a specific opening and mounting arrangement. A correctly sized store-bought product may suit some windows; custom sizing is useful where standard options do not fit. Neither approach replaces the need for secure fit and appropriate materials.
Do you offer fiberglass insect mesh and aluminum frames?
Our insect-screen offering uses fiberglass mesh in aluminum frames. Confirm the frame profile, available color and mesh in your individual quote; do not assume insect mesh has the sun-control rating of solar mesh.
Can I open my windows with insect screens installed?
Screens are intended to allow ventilation through a screened opening when the window is open, subject to the window and mounting arrangement. We check operation and access during measurement. Screens do not provide fall protection.
Do new screens keep all mosquitoes and flies out?
Intact insect mesh and a properly fitted frame help reduce insect entry through that opening. Gaps, tears, open doors and other entry routes can still let pests inside. No whole-home pest-proof guarantee is made.
How do I request a quote for new custom window screens?
Use our existing estimate form or call (602) 652-2927. Include your city or ZIP code, window count and approximate sizes. We provide a rough estimate by email, with exact pricing determined after an in-person measurement.
